My talk at Bernina club went quite well. Two weeks ago, I spoke 3 days in a row: Thursday evening, Friday morning & Saturday morning for approximately 40-45 minutes. It was especially exciting to have a classroom filled to the brim at the Thursday evening meeting with roughly 50 guests! Ann, an employee at Bernina, commented that there were several new faces. A big thank you to all you readers and customers out there for coming to see my presentation! To be honest…I was slightly nervous about speaking for 3 back to back Bernina clubs. However, as soon as I began all the butterflys flew away, and I had such a blast! My audience was very inquisitive and felt comfortable carrying on a dialogue with me which I enjoyed. Next time you are near Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh stop by and see the Bernina store. They have several classes, clubs, exciting events, huge fabric selection, sewing machines – basically, if you’re a quilt addict or wanna’ be, you’ll get in big trouble at Bernina the moment you set foot in the door.
My presentation:
1. Talked about my quilting journey
2. Gave a slideshow of my inspirational sources
3. Demonstrated how I create new designs from my inspirational sources
4. Trunk show of completed quilts
5. Demonstration of free-hand quilting on the sewing frame
***Thank you Marilyn, Ursula, Ann, Carolyn for this wonderful opportunity! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
